Learning objectives
The workshop aims to provide students with the basis needed to build a communication project for a new book's launch, from the paper and online press to the TV&Radio media system and finally to the social media.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and experimentation of the cross-media communication methods in books publishing market, to learn how to promote a book to the public of Readers.

Course syllabus
- General overview of the working basics of a publishing house, from the manuscript to the bookshop
- Main role and purposes of the Publicity Department
- The press review and the main tools of Publicity Department (Press release, book's worksheet, newsletter, press kit etc.)
- Books' communication on paper press vs online media and social media: strenghts and flaws, differences, methods and new chances
- Public events: books presentation, literary festivals, literary prizes, contests, etc.
Prerequisites for admission
No requirement.
Teaching methods
- Frontal teaching, trying to inspire group talk as much as possible
- Maybe a written test (individually corrected by the teacher)

Paper supplies made available by the teacher
(press release models, as well as press kit or book's woksheet models, etc.)
Assessment methods and Criteria
Students are assumed to attend lessons regularly and during the class their actual interest and the profitable performance of the assigned practical activity will be evaluated by the teacher. The workshop final evaluation is "Approved" or "Not-approved".
