Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with knowledge of the immigration rules of the Roman era, as they are useful for developing awareness of problems that are also current.

Course syllabus
The course, which requires a basic knowledge of Roman law of persons in the Roman legal experience, will be aimed at deepening the topics related to family law, reconstructing its historical evolution. The figure of the pater familias and the exercise of his powers (potestas, manus, mancipium) will be studied first of all with particular attention to the administration of the patrimony, including of an entrepreneurial nature. During the lessons, it is planned, with the collaboration of the students, to prepare a collection of sources that will also be made available to non-attending students.
Prerequisites for admission
A basic knowledge of Roman law institutions is required.

Teaching methods
The didactic activity consists of 42 hours of face to face lessons. Attendance is highly recommended. During the lessons, it is planned, with the collaboration of the students, to prepare a collection of sources that will also be made available to non-attending students.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam, as well as testing the level of knowledge in the various subjects of the programme, will also test the acquirement of appropriate technical language, and there will be an oral test; graduate: (0-30/30).
