Analysis and Diagnostics of Architectural Cultural Heritage

Learning objectives
The teaching course aims to enhance Students' understanding for analysing built heritage assets in order to evaluate its protection, enhancement and regeneration, inspired to environmental, social and economic sustainability. Purposes of teaching is providing concepts, techniques methods and processes for interpreting and managing transformation processes of territorial landscape structures, referring to human settlements morphologies, in context of natural and anthropic risks.
In developing program lectures are supplemented with practical activities and seminar with accomplished professional in the field. Guests share their experiences of working in the field, provide practical career advice, organize simulations to help students understand the intricacies of professional life and different career stages as well as tools and techniques to successfully attain their professional goals. Students can apply knowledge gained to real-world scenarios, in line with expected professional profiles and career opportunities. The aim is providing participants with skills and operational tools to undertake high-responsibility roles in order to support built heritage protection and regeneration in urban and territorial policies.

Expected learning outcomes
At the end of teaching course, you are expected to be able to:
1) Explain relevant concepts, methods and processes of built heritage regeneration, at different scale of territorial planning.
2) Analyse concrete study cases in order to identify the best solutions informed by theoretical knowledge and critical thinking for managing transformation of built heritage, in compliance with current regulations.
3) Apply knowledge and understanding developed taking initiative and sharing collective responsibility raising awareness for sustainable development challenges, to support public and private agencies in built heritage regeneration strategies.
4) Exercise critical, communicative, and study-related cross-disciplinary skills to present the results of built heritage analyses to different types of audience, following environmental, social and economic sustainability.
5) Use the acquired knowledge and learning skills for continuing further study with a high degree of autonomy and practice profession to interpret and manage built heritage regeneration processes, in support of urban and territorial policies.
