Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to:
· Understand the fundamental principles of empathetic communication and its role in the doctor-patient relationship, with a particular focus on the context of chronic neurological patients.
· Develop the ability to address and manage the emotional and psychological challenges associated with the diagnostic process, fostering acceptance of the diagnosis by the patient and their family members.
· Integrate communication skills with psychological strategies to support adaptive coping in patients with chronic neurological conditions.
· Critically analyse clinical cases and scientific research to enhance their communication and decision-making skills.
