Learning objectives
The Integrated Course in Occupational Medicine aims to provide students with a multidisciplinary understanding of health and safety in the workplace, with a focus on healthcare environments. Through the contributions of occupational medicine, radiation protection, visual ergonomics, and applied clinical psychology, the course offers essential knowledge of occupational hazards, preventive and protective strategies, as well as visual and psychological well-being at work. It promotes cross-disciplinary skills for health and safety promotion, effective patient communication, and self-awareness in managing one's professional experience.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the Integrated Course, students will be able to:
Understand the legal and organizational framework of workplace prevention in healthcare settings.
Identify and manage key occupational risks, including exposure to ionizing radiation, according to radiation protection principles.
Evaluate visual and environmental factors related to near-work visual load, with focus on asthenopia and visual discomfort.
Recognize psychological factors that influence patient communication and healthcare worker well-being.
Promote a person-centered and integrated approach to occupational health, grounded in prevention and safety.
