The content of the Course comprises the following topics:
Part I - introductory overview of work in private health care sector
- Introduction to the course (the sector, jobs and occupations, movement of workers);
- The system of sources in the private health care sector;
- Industrial relations, collective agreements and trade union rights;
- Subordination, para-subordination and professional self-employment in private health care sector;
Part II - The employment relationship and the organization of work.
- duties, qualifications and classification systems in collective bargaining;
- remuneration;
- organization and regulation of working time;
- the exercise of employer powers: focus on disciplinary codes;
- OHS protections (with a focus on industry risks);
- suspensions of employment: sickness and leaves.
Part III - Employment contracts:
- Fixed-term employment;
- Part-time contracts and on-call employment;
- Agency work;
- Apprenticeship contracts;
- Remote working;
- Self-employment contracts;
- Procurement contracts;
- The certification of employment contracts.

The teaching methods of the course entail:
· Face-to-Face Lectures;
· Analysis of relevant materials (e.g. collective agreements; case law);
· guided exercises;
· Case-Study;
· Individual or group presentation.
During the lectures, the Instructors will use slides, that will be made available by the Instructors on https://ariel.unimi.it. Furthermore, during the lectures the Instructors will encourage (and leave room to) students' questions and comments.

Teaching Resources
The Slides and the materials (among which the Case-law judgments and collective agreements analyzed in class) that will be made available by the Instructors on https://ariel.unimi.it are mandatory materials for the preparation of the exam (for both attending and non-attending students).
Non-attending students are required to prepare for the exam on the following text (in the most recent edition): F. Carinci, R. De luca Tamajo, P. Tosi e T. Treu, Diritto del lavoro., Utet, Torino,(in the parts relating to the specific topics analyzed in the Course).

Assessment methods and Criteria
For the attending Students, the acquisition of the expected learning outcomes will be assessed by:
· Oral Examination (degree in /30);
· Elective (i.e. facultative) Individual or Group Presentation (from 0 to +3 additional points degree)
The final grade (in /30) will be the sum of the Oral Examination Degree and of the Elective Individual or Group Presentation Degree.
The criteria for the evaluation of the students' oral examination and presentations will be the correctness of the contents, the clarity of the arguments, the capacity to critically approach and resolve the cases.
For the Non-Attending students, the acquisition of the expected learning outcomes by the non-attending Students will be assessed by:
· Oral Examination (degree in /30);
The final grade (in /30) will be the sum of the Oral Examination Degree.
The criteria for the evaluation of oral examination will be the correctness of the contents, the clarity of the arguments, the capacity to critically approach and resolve the cases.
