Course syllabus
The first part of the course provides an introduction to the problems, methodologies, and objects of investigation in the field of media industry studies. The second part applies the perspective of media industry studies to film production and distribution in Italy and Europe during the second half of the 20th century. Particular attention is given to the relationship between the film industry and the state, and the role of film policy.
Prerequisites for admission
· B2 level of English or higher
· A basic knowledge of the history of European Cinema
Teaching methods
The course topics will be covered using slides and audio-visual materials, which will be analysed during the lectures. Students who decide not to attend the lectures will follow the non-attending syllabus.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam consists of an oral interview on the topics of the program and, for attending students, also on those addressed during the lessons in the classroom. The exam intends to verify in particular the critical and logical-argumentative abilities of the student.
