Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the general outline of the history of women and gender relations in Italy - where necessary in the context of the history of women and gender relations in Europe- from the Middle Ages to the Contemporary Age, the lexical, conceptual and methodological tools specific to the discipline for interpreting the issues and the related historiography and for developing documented and critical reflections.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course Students will have acquired a general framework regarding the female condition and gender relations in Italy - where necessary in the context of the history of women and gender relations in Europe - from the Middle Ages to the contemporary age. They will be able to examine problems by tracing their historical roots, to place the turning in their chronological, territorial and social contexts, to use a specific lexicon, to express in a clear and effective form specific concepts of the discipline and to read historiographical works critically. Students will also have acquired knowledge useful for research, analysis of sources and the development of documented and critical reflections.
