Exanthems and skin and soft tissue infections
Imported tropical diseases (malaria, dengue, other arbovirosis, leishmaniasis, Chagas disease)
Upper tract respiratory infections
Lower tract respiratory infections (Tuberculosis, Pneumonia)
Influenza, COVID-19
Acute viral hepatitis, leptospirosis, amebiasis
Gastrointestinal infections and food poisoning
Systemic fungal infections (candidiasis, aspergillosis, histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis)
Urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis)
Central nervous system infections (meningitis, encephalitis, tetanus, rabies)

Prerequisites for admission
Students need to have basic knowledge about "Immunology", "Microbiology" and "Clinical pathology",
In particular, the student needs to know the main changes in blood tests induced by infections, the immune response to infections and the main microbiologic technique used to achieve the diagnosis of infectious diseases (blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid culture).

Teaching methods
Frontal teaching, clinical case-based learning, professionalizing activity carried out in the Infectious Diseases ward.
In the Ariel platform all the slides presented during oral teaching will be available, Moreover, as innovative teaching will be made available clinical cases of infectious diseases from the real world as well as from medical journal such as The New England Journal of Medicine.
