Learning objectives
The course has the specific purpose of giving students:
- a thorough knowledge of the topics covered by the course, both from a technical and a legal point of view;
- the ability to critically address issues and resolve IT-legal issues through the revision of the concepts learned;
- strengthening the technical and IT language relevant to the subject;
- the ability to link the different topics in order to elaborate useful proposals for the solution of concrete cases, also through practical lessons carried out with the active participation of the students.

Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student who has successfully learned the subject will have an in-depth knowledge of the course topics, with the acquisition of a reasoning method suitable for dealing with more specific and complex IT-legal topics with respect to institutional notions

Prerequisites for admission
There are no particular pre-requisites for adequately addressing the course content. Certainly, a good knowledge of the most commonly used computer tools is useful to best follow the lectures, which are of a practical nature.

The Course consists of 21 hours of classes and hands-on seminars.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The final exam takes place orally in the exam session, with a question consisting of at least three questions on three different parts of the program. At the end of the course, it is possibile for the student who attended at least 80% of the lesson.

This academic year's course will focus on the use of artificial intelligence by (young) lawyers and the most advanced legal tech solutions.
In particular, the following topics will be covered:
- big data
- artificial intelligence
- the use of generative artificial intelligence in the legal field
- artificial intelligence and ethical rules
- artificial intelligence and legal design
- artificial intelligence and cybersecurity
- the European regulation on artificial intelligence

Prerequisites for admission
There are no particular pre-requisites for adequately addressing the contents of the course. Certainly, a good knowledge of the most commonly used computer tools is very helpful in order to best follow the lessons, which are eminently practical and which are focused on the JURIST's use of computer tools (these are not basic computer classes).
Teaching methods
The Course consists of 21 hours of classroom lessons held by the Professor, often joined by leading scholars in the field of Legal Informatics who bring their practical (especially professional and working) experiences to the classroom.
