Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the basic notions to acquire the basic elements necessary to learn, develop and apply knowledge about the medico-legal professionalism related to:

- understanding fundamental concepts of medico-legal practice; main elements of forensic pathology; fundamental legal rules governing the exercise of the profession; deontological rules related to professional practice; main legislative rules governing the health organization;

- ability to exercise critical thinking with independent judgment;

- ability to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to specialist and non-specialist interlocutors.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student must be able to know the basic of medico-legal reasoning, the legal and medico-legal foundations of the professional practice, the fundamental laws, norms, regulations of the health organization in general and healthcare accountability in particular, as well as the basic notions of forensic pathology.
They will also need to demonstrate that they know how to:
- apply the skills acquired;
- express critical and judgmental skills;
- communicate in an appropriate and effective way;
- autonomously continue the learning process, in line with the programmed plan of study and the professional continue medical education program, integrating linking activities between different cultural and scientific areas
