A.Y. 2025/2026
Learning objectives
The course aims to provide a set of essential analytical tools, both theoretical and practical, for the study of health from a sociological perspective. To this end, the course is divided into two parts: the first part presents theoretical content by problematizing the concept of health within the social sciences and offering a heuristic framework for its observation and explanation/understanding. The second part, which is more practical, involves students in applying the knowledge acquired to carry out a social research project.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will have acquired theoretical knowledge regarding the definition, observation, and multidimensional measurement of health, as well as basic practical skills related to the variety of methods, techniques, and data that can be used to investigate the health phenomenon from a sociological perspective.
