Neonatal Management in Dogs, Cats and Horses

Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students, through a primarily practical-application-oriented approach, with foundational knowledge for non-veterinary management of neonates in dog, cat, and horse species, both in terms of assistance at birth and monitoring and management during the neonatal period.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and Understanding:
The student will learn the basic concepts and methods for managing neonates in the canine, feline, and equine species, both in terms of birth assistance and during the neonatal period.
Applying Knowledge and Understanding:
The student will be able to apply the knowledge for proper management of neonates in the canine, feline, and equine species, both in terms of birth assistance and during the neonatal period.
Making Judgment:
The student will develop the ability to independently manage neonates in the canine, feline, and equine species, both in terms of birth assistance and during the neonatal period.
Communication:
The student will learn to communicate, as acquired during the course, with owners and breeders, both verbally and in writing, using appropriate language and correct scientific terminology regarding the management of neonates in the canine, feline, and equine species, including both birth assistance and the neonatal period.
Lifelong learning skills:
The student will use acquired knowledge to critically revise the scientific new information regarding the management of neonates in the canine, feline, and equine species, both in terms of birth assistance and during the neonatal period.
