Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the fundamental knowledge related to the main childhood neuropsychiatric diseases.
The neurological examination of the newborn and the child will be presented to better understand the stages of psychomotor development in its entirety.
Expected learning outcomes
Students should be able to interpret clinical relationships that concern the patient affected by these diseases, appreciate the burden of care both from the point of view of the individual operator involved in the management of the case and the family.

In particular, several disorders will be addressed from the diagnostic and therapeutic point of view:

- Neurodevelopment Disorders
o Intellectual disability
o Autism Spectrum Disorders
o Attention deficit and hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
o Specific Learning Disorders
- Epilepsy and differential diagnostics
- Main neurophysiological diagnostic methods
- Pediatric cerebral palsy
- Main Rare Diseases with Neurological Involvement
- Infectious Diseases of the Nervous System (Meningitis - Encephalitis)
- Neuromuscola diseases
- Neurodegenerative diseases
Prerequisites for admission
No prior knowledge is required.

Laboratory teaching involves both lectures and hands-on activities (discussions and simulations)
