Learning objectives
Aims of the course are to provide to the student
- the knowledge about etiopathogenesis, epidemiology, clinical features, diagnostic tests and management of the most common and severe conditions affecting the oral mucosa, the salivary glands and the bone of the jaws.
- the skills for the diagnosis and the first-line management of the most common and severe conditions affecting the oral mucosa, the salivary glands and the bone of the jaws.

Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the students will be able to start first-line management of patients with
- non-plaque-induced gingival diseases.
- orofacial pain
- autoimmune bullous diseases of the oral mucosa
- pigmented lesions of the oral mucosa
- lichen planus and lichenoid lesions
- leukoplakia and potentially malignant disorders
- oral cancer
- complications of head-neck cancer therapy
- medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw
- saliva disorders and diseases of the salivary glands
- viral infections of the oral cavity (herpes and HPV)
- oral mycoses
- immunodeficiency-related oral conditions
- bone lesions of the jaws
