Course syllabus
The laboratory is dedicated to the practical analysis of the main aspects of copyright law and the use of artificial intelligence tools in the European and Anglo-American contexts. Its aim is to provide students with theoretical and practical tools to understand the legal challenges posed by AI in the processes of creation, use, and dissemination of intellectual works in the fields of publishing and communication.
The course is structured into thematic lessons, each focusing on a specific area: the protection of creative works and the data used to train AI models; the legal qualification of works generated by automated systems; the rights of authors, users, and technology providers; the copyright limitations and exceptions relevant to AI; issues of liability; and the most recent regulatory and case-law developments, also at the European and international levels.
