Course Title:
World Literature and ecocriticism: four world perspectives

Description:
The course explores themes in world literature through the lens of World Literature and ecocriticism, analyzing texts from French, English-speaking, Scandinavian and Russian literatures in comparative perspective to investigate the relationships between cultures, environments and narratives of the natural world in the context of global modernity.
The course is intended for master's degree students and will be taught in Italian. If students are specialists in one of the four reference literatures (which is not mandatory), they are encouraged to read the books in the original language. Italian
Prerequisites for admission
There are no prerequisites for this course. No specific language skills are required as the course deals with literatures from different linguistic areas. The course will be held in Italian. Students are required to have a basic competence related to literary analysis.

Non-attending students should supplement their preparation with other texts or articles that the teachers will indicate. For this purpose, they are requested to contact the professors of reference once the course has started.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will take place in oral form and will consist of a dialogue to be conducted in an oral format and will consist of a dialogue focusing on the topics covered during the course and will focus on the topics explored during the course and on the critical readings assigned. All students and especially non-attending students are invited to consult MyAriel.
