Learning objectives
Introduction to scientific and technological innovation processes in the context of Human-Centered AI, with reference to Physical AI, artificial intelligence, and robotics, as well as research and innovation policies, geopolitical dynamics, and technological sovereignty. The course addresses knowledge valorization, technology transfer, science-industry interaction, and innovation scale-up in the European and international context.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- understand scientific and technological innovation processes within the Human-Centered AI framework, including Physical AI, neurorobotics, and issues of technological sovereignty and geopolitics;
- apply design criteria and management tools for knowledge valorization, technology transfer, and innovation scale-up in high-tech systems and biomedical contexts;
- critically assess the role of science in public and private decision-making, with attention to research integrity, research security, and European innovation policies;
- effectively communicate and discuss complex interdisciplinary cases in national and international contexts;
- develop autonomous learning skills to interpret evolving dynamics between science, technology, industry, and society.
