Credit transfer and continuous tutoring support

Credit transfer

Credit transfer means that your prior learning and work experiences can be recognised in the form of ECTS academic credits.

Within our La Statale Open online programmes, you can ask for recognition of exams and activities completed in the framework of other degrees, at other universities, or in qualified educational and professional settings.

Online application for recognition of prior learning

La Statale Open offers a free online service allowing you to apply for recognition of prior learning gained through work, university studies and training courses.

To count towards credit transfer, any study or work experience must be certified by the organisation where it took place.

Self-certifications are accepted only for activities completed at Italian public administrations. For prior learning completed at private organisations or with self-employed professionals, you will need to submit an official statement, on letterhead, from the relevant organisation or professional.

All statements and self-certifications must specify the following:

  • type of activity
  • number of hours
  • assessment of your learning
  • knowledge and skills acquired
  • course syllabi (if applicable).

If you have worked for a company or non-profit organisation, the statement should also provide information on the annual turnover and number of employees of the company or non-profit organisation.

You can apply for recognition of multiple work experiences, as long as you provide supporting documents issued by the relevant employer for each of them.

Recognition of prior learning
Work experience eligible for credit transfer

We welcome applications for recognition of prior learning based on previous work experience in administration, business management and economics, both in the private and public sector.

This includes roles in project management, administration, controlling and auditing, human resources and marketing, as well as similar positions with B2B service providers, third sector organisations, professional firms, banks, financial institutions and public bodies.

Other activities may be eligible for credit transfer, as long as they are relevant to the learning objectives of the Bachelor's degree.

We welcome applications for recognition of prior learning based on previous work experience in IT, both in the private and public sector.

This includes roles in cybersecurity, data management and protection, network and service management and AI development and integration.

Other activities may be eligible for credit transfer, as long as they are relevant to the learning objectives of the Bachelor's degree.

Continuous tutoring support

Online learning ensures you flexibility, but it doesn't mean that you have to do everything by yourself. This is why La Statale Open offers you continuous tutoring support, to guide you step by step and be at your side throughout your studies.

Our tutors will be there for you from the very beginning, and you can count on them to listen to your doubts, assist you in your study and help you overcome difficulties.

We offer constant and customised support, because every journey is different and deserves attention.

Three types of tutors

Your system tutor will be your go-to person along your whole university experience. They will welcome you at the beginning of your journey and follow you over time, supporting you in organising your study and helping you solve any issues. They will make sure that your accesses to the platform are recorded and that learning materials have been downloaded and saved. They will monitor your progress and step in every time you experience difficulties, to reduce the risk of drop-out.

The technical tutor will help you learn how to navigate our Learning Management System with confidence, from your first log-in to browsing all available materials and attending online activities.

Subject-specific tutors are there to help you succeed in each cluster course. They will actively support you for the whole duration of the course, answering subject-specific questions, helping you better understand course contents and facilitating interaction with the lecturer.

They will clarify your doubts and give you additional insights into their subject, encouraging the exchange of views and accompanying you until the day of the exam, in close contact with lecturers. Rest assured that, even from a distance, there is always someone you can rely on.

An accessible and inclusive online learning environment

If you have a disability or specific learning disorder (SLD), you can count on dedicated staff that will accompany you throughout your university journey, listening to your needs and offering you customised support.

Our online learning platform respects the highest standards in terms of web accessibility, ensuring a fully accessible user experience. Materials, tools and activities are designed to facilitate learning and eliminate barriers, so that you can focus on course contents and your educational pathway.

Our disability and SLD services can assist you in choosing between our online programmes, organising your study, accessing learning materials and identifying the most suitable solutions to help you make the most of your academic years. Even online, our goal is to make sure that you can study in a welcoming, caring and truly inclusive environment.

Additional support when you need it

At some point, any student may experience personal circumstances that affect their academic performance. For this reason, the University offers you individual and group counselling sessions, available both online and on campus.

Our counsellors can help you develop a study method and cope with common problems like exam anxiety, uncertainties or lack of focus.
