The Degree Course is oriented to the training of a professional figure capable of knowing and understanding the physical-spatial and organizational characters of an environmental context, in its natural and anthropic components in relation to historical transformations and to the socio-economic and territorial context to which it belongs, and to detect it by analyzing its geo-morphological, historical-cultural and settlement characteristics. The specific skills of the graduate concern the activities of analysis, evaluation, interpretation, representation and design, management of urban and suburban areas of natural and/or agricultural value and to the conduction of related technical administrative and productive processes.
The graduate will be able to work in various fields:
- design of the urban green system, parks and gardens, green spaces pertaining to residential, industrial, commercial, tourist, school buildings, sports facilities, ecological networks and greenways, urban drainage systems and nature based solutions, technological greenery, lacustrine and marine coastal strips, therapeutic gardens, urban agricultural parks, urban vegetable gardens, botanical gardens, floricultural exhibitions;
- rehabilitation of brownfields, landfills;
- landscape insertion of road infrastructures and energy production networks;
- conservation and restoration of historic gardens and parks;
- environmental and landscape impact analysis and assessments, also in relation to land safety issues;
- landscape planning (landscape plans, protected areas and natural parks, agricultural landscapes).
The Master's Degree Course in Design of Green Areas and Landscape allows admission to the State Examination for registration in Section A of the Order of Agronomists and Foresters and the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators.
