The teaching module is meant to analyse and comment on the main features of bilingual dictionaries and their peculiar ways to codify the lexical equivalence between two different languages. Far from being neutral and objective representations of languages, bilingual dictionaries provide evidence of the impact of cultural and ideological issues in the lexicographical representation of languages. This will be shown by considering a number of bilingual dictionaries from different areas and periods.
