The course aims at examining and discussing some of the ways in which the historiographical category of anachronism and more in general the archeological approach, which have long been established in the study of media's visual elements, can be fruitfully employed in historical research on sound and musical objects in media contexts. The course will consist of workshops combining theoretical reflections guided by an interdisciplinary approach and discussion of specific case studies.
