The course will aim to show different types of dialogic forms in literature and other arts, focusing on cases of intersection and contamination between different mediums. For example, we will consider the "contrasti" of the 15th-century Venetian poet Leonardo Giustinian as a case of proto-theatrical text, the epistle as a form of remote dialogue, dialogue in Renaissance scientific treatises, the dialogical dimension in songs up to the present day, improvisation in "commedia dell'arte", and cases of writings in dialogue across different fields.
