The course aims to: raise awareness of the methodological challenges and obstacles that scientific research—particularly in the social sciences—must address when investigating phenomena; offer a comprehensive overview of the main research methods used in the social sciences; encourage a multidisciplinary approach to the analysis and prediction of social phenomena; provide an introduction to key qualitative research methods such as ethnography, interviews, and observation; and explore methods particularly suited to interdisciplinary research, including psychological experiments and agent-based modeling.
