The vocational master programme intends to train occupational therapists in the field of rehabilitation of frail elderly patients, with a view to health promotion, occupational participation and development of communities and operational networks. The coursework focuses on health issues in the elderly, aiming to boost, plan and monitor an improvement in their participation through prevention and educational activities, and to adjust territorial planning to the social context.
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold a degree in class L/SNT2 Health professions for rehabilitation under Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004 (Occupational Therapy degree only).
The learning pathway is designed to develop all-round professionals with specialised skills in terms of health promotion and participation in daily life occupations, with a view to address the needs of the elderly, families and the community. Students may apply such skills in the rehabilitation field, in public or private health and social care facilities, whether as employees or independent professionals.
