Building Capacity in Comparative and EU Law in HEIs of Mongolia (COMP-LAW)

Action: Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education 2022

The project aims at building integrated, multidisciplinary courses in Comparative Public Law, EU and International Law topics; and introducing best practices and new research methods; capacity building of academic staff in pedagogical and methodological approaches and to forge collaborations between partner HEIs. The project is implemented from 1 March 2023 for three years period of time.

Objectives:

  • To develop, test and establish new courses in the field of Comparative Public Law, EU law and international law in Mongolian HEIs.
  • To support the modernisation, accessibility, and internationalization of higher education and to address the challenges facing the higher education system in Mongolia; 
  • To improve the level of competencies and skills in the HEIs by developing a new and innovative set of courses and by applying best practices pedagogical methodologies among academics and learners; 
  • To contribute on strengthening cooperation between HEIs of the EU and of Mongolia; 
  • To promote the concept of sustainable development at academic level.

Target groups/Impact:

The main target of this project is teaching staff, researchers, and students of the Mongolian partner HEIs.

For academic staff and young researchers, introducing best practices, new research methods, innovative pedagogical and methodological approaches to advance the quality of teaching and research activities is the key.

As for students, they will be gained advanced knowledge in the field of comparative public law, EU law and international law by attending the proposed courses by the project and they will be invited to the University of Milan for two weeks to attend classes and seminars.

By strengthening research/teaching capacity of partner universities in Mongolia, and by increasing their ability to undertake high-quality research, the project aims not only to improve the quality of teaching and research activities, but it also enables communication and collaboration with the wider community of stakeholders.

Ultimately, students will benefit from the proposed teaching activities that are expected to impact on their being employed in the national and international labour market.
