Learning objectives
This course aims at providing the students with a solid background in basic calculus in order to proficiently attend the field courses of the bachelor's program. The course starts with the definition of function, and build on this via examples and ecxercizes in order to present the conceps of limits and derivatives. Then the optimization of functions of one variable is enriched with brief introduction to the optimization of function of two variables via Lagrange multiplyers.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of this course students should be able to perform the analysis of a function of one variable, putting together all the fundamental concepts of calculus, that is limits, derivatives and search for maxima and minima.
