Learning objectives
The course will consider the legal environment which applies to regulation of media in Italy and Europe .It focuses on media law and its impact on the different media professions. Topics to be covered may include: freedom of expression, press/ broadcasting regulation, content regulation, advertising, access to government documents.
Furthermore the course aims at providing a description of disruptive forms of technological change are upending multiple sectors of the modern global economy as well as the laws and regulations that govern them. Hence the course (complemented with interactive class activities on specific topics and eventually guest speake's talks) is aimed at providing students with qualified (professional) profiles
Expected learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the principles of media law and the regulatory aspects of innovation in particular in the data economy. On successful completion of the course students will be able to:
- Analyse the advanced principles of media law and the basic principle and the instruments of regulation and regulation risk;
- Apply Media Law principles to legal problems;
- Engage in critical thinking and legal analysis;
- Gain a thorough understanding of the problems of technological change and its regulation.
