Learning objectives
The course aims at acquiring the fundamental notions, concepts , and vocabulary of Modern History, and of the specific topics of the lectures.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will have learnt about principles of Modern History (notions, concepts, vocabulary), basic to the study and activities in the field of Cultural Heritage.
Attending students will also have learned useful elements of historical research methodology to professional activity in the field of Cultural Heritage.

Title of the course: The other half of the sky: the woman in Modern Age (History, Culture, Art).
Module 1: Society in Modern Age (History, Culture, Art).
Module 2: The woman in Modern Age Society (History, Culture, Art): Part I.
Module 3: The woman in Modern Age Society (History, Culture, Art): Part II.
During the lessons, fundamental topics will be developed and dealt with, from a theoretical and practical point of view, for the training of the operator in the field of Cultural Heritage. Therefore at the end of the course, the student who regularly attends the lessons will also have acquired practical skills in the world of work.
Since this is a professionalizing course, attending students will have to follow the whole course (all the three units into which it is divided) whether the study plan provides for the achievement of 9 CFU in Modern History or of 6 CFU.

- Type of examination: written test with multiple choice questions, in Italian, on the computer (90 minutes).
-Evaluation criteria: ability to demonstrate and process knowledge.
- Type of evaluation method: mark in 30s.
The student must submit to the examination with:
1) valid identification document within the borders of the Italian Republic;
2) university badge;
3) e-mail address assigned by the University and password (the password must be less than 14 characters. If the student usually uses a password of 14 or more characters, she/he must change the password before
attending the exam. The new password must be less than 14 characters. Before the exam the student must verify that the new password is active).
- NB: two elective mid-term evaluations (towards the end of the lectures) will be organised on behalf of the attending students only. They will consist of a written test with multiple choice questions, in Italian, on the computer: the first on C. Capra, Storia moderna (1492-1848), Le Monnier (Mondadori Education), Firenze 2016 (65 minutes), the second on the lectures (25 minutes). The final evaluation is the sum of the marks of the two mid-term evaluations.
The student must go to the two mid-term evaluation with:
1) valid identification document within the borders of the Italian Republic;
2) university badge;
3) e-mail address assigned by the University and password (the password must be less than 14 characters. If the student usually uses a password of 14 or more characters, she/he must change the password before attending the two mid-term exams. The new password must be less than 14 characters. Before the exam the student must verify that the new password is active).
- Method of communication of the assessment results of mid-term evaluation: Ariel. Since the mid-term evaluation sessions are reserved to attending students, information is not provided by e-mail. You cannot register for the mid-term evaluation by e-mail.
- Attending students who have passed the two mid-term evaluation exams must register the mark through SIFA, for one of the exams of the academic year 2019-2020, otherwise the mark will be cancelled.
- If the attending student refuses the mid-term evaluation mark and takes the exam again, the mid-term evaluation mark will be definitely cancelled.
The format of the exam for students with disabilities should be arranged in advance with the professor, as well as the relevant office.
