A.Y. 2019/2020
Overall hours
Learning objectives
30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the workshop - organized in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Mailand - aims to present the German Democratic Republic (GDR) to a generation of students born long after 1989 from a historical, cultural, literary and linguistic point of view. Film presentations and information meetings with the teachers of the German section will alternate. There will also be a meeting with the author Clemens Meyer ("Als wir träumten"/"We were the greatest") and a Study Day on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the fall of the Wall.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, the student will have acquired knowledge about the history of Germany and its division in the last century, and will also have developed critical and argumentative skills through constant stimulation to take part in meetings with interventions on specific issues, such as the history, theatre, literature, language and cinema of the two Germanies.
