Transparency is a theme dealt with by Byung-Chul Han, a Korean philosopher who teaches in Berlin, in his book The Transparency Society. His thesis is that the theme of transparency is dominant, but like a fetish, because in fact there is no transparency. The following sentence summarizes the thesis of the book: "the society of transparency is one hell of the Equal. Those who think that transparency avoids corruption and guarantees freedom of information, do not recognize its scope. Transparency is a systemic coercion that [..] reduces man to a functional element of a system ". More: "The society of transparency is a society of mistrust that [ ] submits itself to control. The strong demand for transparency refers precisely to the fact that the moral foundation of society has become fragile, that moral values such as sincerity or honesty become increasingly insignificant. Instead of the disgraced moral claim, transparency appears as a new moral imperative.
