The lectures will be held mainly on Microsoft Teams and can be followed both synchronously based on the timetable of the second semester and asynchronously because they will be recorded and left available to students. Some face-to-face lessons are planned.

The course offers an introduction to specialized translation (German-Italian) at both theoretical and application level:
- on a theoretical level, the main aspects of specialized translation will be analysed: the characteristics of texts belonging to the business, legal and technical fields, the production of translation, translation quality;
- at the application level, we analyse texts translated from German into Italian. In addition, we translate German texts mainly concerning business, legal and technical topics.
An overview of audiovisual translation is also provided.

Intermediate written (or computer-based) testor official written (or computer-based) exam:
1. Open-ended questions and close-ended questions (e.g. MCQ) on theoretical aspects of specialist translation and on texts dealt with in class;
2. Translation of parts of texts dealt with in class (German-Italian);
3. Translation of texts similar to those dealt with in class (German-Italian).
Assessment criteria: theoretical and practical skills in translation.
Updates and information will be published before the beginning of the lectures.
