Learning objectives
This teaching workshop aims at introducing students to the process of editing and interpreting 19th century manuscripts.
Expected learning outcomes
Ability to edit a manuscript on the basis of readability for modern readers; ability to understand information offered by documents and to present them according with their proper importance; ability to recognize the main linguistic features of a 19th century document

More specific information on the delivery modes of training activities for academic year 2021/2022 will be provided over the comings months, based on the evolution of the public health situation.
Course syllabus
1- Explanation of the main features of the text which will be transcribed and edited. 2- Notions on history of Italian language. 3- Debate on editing criteria and notions on how writing a philological note.
Prerequisites for admission
None.
Teaching methods
Students work in small groups under supervision, alternate with debates on problems encountered during activities and with teacher explanations on primaries methodological aspects.

Teaching materials will be provided in class.
Assessment methods and Criteria
Regular attendance at lectures and progress in assigned tasks.
