Learning objectives
The teaching workshop aims at introducing students to the Aramaic language of the Bible. It will focus on the alphabet and on the basic topics of the grammar. The classes will deal with grammatical explications, reading and translation of some simple texts in Aramaic from the biblical and Talmudic literature.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to read the texts explained in class and to recognize the main grammatical structures; they will also be able to contextualize these texts into the Jewish tradition in Aramaic language.

Teaching methods
Classes will be hold on Microsoft Teams. They can be attended both by connecting and listening to them each Friday from 11.00 to 12.30; or listening to them later, because they will be recorded to be at disposal on Microsoft Teams. The material (grammar files and Aramaic texts with translation and a glossary) will be distributed in class and uploaded on the teacher's Ariel website.

Alphabet and vocalism. The substantive and the qualifying adjective. The Construct State. Reading, translation and commentary of some texts from the Bible, the Talmud and the Jewish literature in aramaic language.

Traditional classes on Microsoft Teams with the possibility of listening them again because they will be recorded.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The regular participation of the students and their profitable execution of the assigned activities will be examined.
