Learning objectives
The workshop aims to make students aware of the cultural relevance of the history of book forms, both as a historical-social phenomenon, and as a central element of the textual transmission in its material dimension.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge: students will know, from a comparative perspective, the history and evolution of book forms between the end of the ancient world and the age of printing between East and West.
Skills: students will be able to describe a manuscript in its parts and evaluate its geographical and chronological context of production.
