The goal of this course is to provide students with a basic knowledge of number sets and of the reletions between objects of such sets

Students will be able to manipulate elements of number sets and to explore their properties in a semi-autonomous way

Course syllabus
For those who attended classes: fractions, misconceptions and interpretations; elements of math education; didactical design; the building of integer, relative and rational numbers; mathematical inductions.
For those who did not attend classes: number sets: integer, relative, rational and real numbers; groups: first definition and properties; theory and education of fractions; elements of math education: main theories, errors and difficulties, mathematic argumentation; the normative framework; the institutional setting of Italian middle school; math laboratory in middle school

Assessment methods and Criteria
If classes had been attended: written exam with open ended questions; preparation and discussion of a teaching lab activity.
Criteria of evaluation: understanding, correctness, propriety and mastery of language, ability to apply the knowledge gained in the course to the evaluation of student products and to the design of teaching activity.
If classed had not been attended: in addition to what is listed above, students that did not attended class will have to take a closed answer test on the relative programme.
Evaluation kind (for all students): mark out of 30, that will be notified through SIFA.
