Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the fundamental principles of General Chemistry which constitute the essential cultural background for understanding the teachings for which General Chemistry is preparatory. The General Chemistry course will also provide the student with the main calculation methods to solve stoichiometry problems.
Expected learning outcomes
- Knowledge of theoretical principles and comprehension of the basic structure of atoms and molecules, chemical reactions and thermodynamics and kinetics bases of reactions.
- Understanding and solving stoichiometry problems.

Prerequisites for admission
Knowledge of the basic math operations, including I and II grade equations, conversion between measurements units and operations with logarithms.
Teaching methods
Power point slides will be used to illustrate the topics covered. Stoichiometry exercises will performed and further exercises will be proposed by the Exam Manager online platform.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Written exam, composed of at least 4 stoichiometry exercises and 2 theory open questions. The evaluation will be performed attributing 3 to 4 points to each question (3 points to 2 questions and 4 points to 6 questions), maximum number of points is equal to 30.
The results of the exams will be published online and visible on each student personal page.
2 exams "in itinere" will be proposed , useful for the final evaluation,
