Learning objectives
During the activities the student will:
‒ Learn how to identify a patient who needs pain therapy
‒ Know the main therapies to treat acute and chronic pain
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the activities, the student will:
‒ Know how to approach a patient with acute or chronic pain
‒ Learn how to set a therapeutic plan
‒ Learn the most common interventional procedures for pain therapy

Course syllabus and organization

Prerequisites for admission
In order to tackle the course content, students must be familiar with the physiology of the main organs and systems and the pathophysiology and semeiotics of the main acute diseases.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning of each UDE (Elementary Teaching Unit) will be verified by the tutors through the signing of the "Clinical skills" booklet.
The acquisition of the UDE is a mandatory prerequisite for taking the exam and does not give rise to a grade out of 30, but has a qualifying function.

Initial assessment of polytrauma patients
Initial treatment of skin lesions

Seminars and attendance at the Acute Pain Service and Chronic Pain Clinics to learn the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to patients with acute and chronic pain.
