The goal of the Master's degree programme in Health Professions of Prevention Sciences is to provide training which allows to make decisions regarding the organisation and management of healthcare services provided by staff with technical functions within the field of medicine.
The graduate will be able to command and exercise professional skills and methods in research, training, and management.
Specific educational goals include:
· Employ specific scientific knowledge in relation to their professional role in order to make decisions concerning the organisation and management of health services supplied by professional healthcare personnel in the medical field within health facilities, including preventative and protection healthcare services and the Local Health Authorities;
· Utilise skills in healthcare management and organisation in order to coordinate healthcare services, and to manage available human and technological resources, evaluating the cost/benefit ratio;
· Monitor specific sectors of the health organisation within the sphere of preventative healthcare;
· Use research methods and tools in the organisation of clinical services;
· Optimise the use of all resources (human, technological, IT, financial resources) available to preventative healthcare facilities;
· Design and conduct training programmes for continuing education and refresher courses at one's own clinic or facility;
· Develop teaching skills for teaching aspiring professionals in one's field through tutorials, and internship coordination for first-tier, complementary, and continuing education.
The employment opportunities for those earning a degree in Health Professions of Prevention Sciences are as follows:
- executive positions in clinics tasked with preventative services (organisation/supervision of the facilities, and effective service provision);
- university teaching: graduates may undertake a university-teaching career once they have passed all competitive-procedures required by the law;
- university research within one's professional field;
- preventative services with organisational and management activities within the public and private sector;
- preventative services with advanced professional activities within the public and private sector;
- training activities, including assessing needs, design, and instruction within a public or private clinic.

L'accesso al Corso è programmato a livello nazionale ai sensi della Legge n. 264 del 2.8.1999.
Il numero degli studenti ammissibili è definito annualmente con Decreto del Ministero dell'Istruzione, della Università e della Ricerca (MUR), tenendo conto della rilevazione effettuata dallo stesso Ateneo in ordine alle risorse ed alle strutture didattiche e cliniche disponibili, nonché tenendo conto delle esigenze manifestate dalla regione Lombardia e dal Ministero della Salute in ordine al fabbisogno di personale sanitario del profilo professionale di riferimento della Classe.
La prova di ammissione per l'accesso al Corso consiste in una prova scritta basata su domande a risposta multipla.
La prova di ammissione si svolge in data stabilita dal MUR a livello nazionale.

Per l'ammissione è richiesto il possesso di laurea conseguita nella classe L/SNT4, o nella corrispondente classe di cui al D.M.509/99.
Sono inoltre ammessi i possessori di diploma universitario abilitante alla professione o di altro titolo equipollente (ai sensi della legge n. 42/1999), nonché coloro che sono in possesso di titolo di studio conseguito all'estero, riconosciuto idoneo.

Modalità di verifica delle conoscenze e della preparazione personale:
La verifica dell'adeguatezza della preparazione personale è verificata contestualmente alla prova di ammissione secondo quanto specificato dal Regolamento didattico del corso.
Il Corso di Studi non ha attivato accordi Erasmus+ con Atenei esteri.
La frequenza a tutte le attività didattiche previste dal manifesto degli studi è obbligatoria.
Per essere ammesso a sostenere la relativa verifica di profitto, lo studente deve aver frequentato almeno il 75% delle ore di attività didattica formale e non formale previste per ciascuna attività formativa. In caso di mancato raggiungimento di tale livello di frequenza, il/i docenti responsabile/i possono indicare attività formative alternative, anche in forma di auto-apprendimento, che lo studente deve svolgere prima di essere ammesso all'esame. La frequenza obbligatoria alle attività pratiche, di cui al presente Regolamento, non è sostituibile.
