This seminar proposal intends to explore translation in its practical-operational aspect, seen from a political point of view. Indeed, whether considering it as a process or as a product, interlingual translation has constantly been considered, in the course of history as well as today, as an application or result of choices. In the political sphere, choices on how to proceed in translating have often symbolized religious, philosophical, ideological positions - collective or individual - giving rise to translation products of high linguistic, literary and cultural importance.
