Applications of R in Evolution and Ecology

The course introduces the basic use of the R programming language in RStudio with a particular focus on the ecological and evolutionary perspective. Concomitantly, basic statistics concepts will also be introduced to support the practical activity. The course will be divided into a general part and a specific part that addresses topics tailored to the students' needs. The general part will cover error propagation, clustering high-dimensional data, dimensionality reduction, and machine learning techniques, along with the interpretation of the results. At the end, the students will be able to apply these techniques and approaches to their data.
