Lead instructor: Raffaella Bucci
This course offers PhD students a comprehensive overview of biophysical techniques used to characterize bioactive compounds. It covers spectroscopic methods, calorimetric approaches, thermophoresis-based assays, and advanced interaction analysis techniques such as biolayer interferometry and surface plasmon resonance. Particular emphasis is placed on how these methodologies can be applied to investigate molecular properties, binding interactions, and mechanisms of action. AI-based structural approaches to identify novel ligands and analyze the interactions will be also introduced. The program combines lectures with interactive sessions and case studies, providing participants with both a solid theoretical foundation and practical insights into the application of biophysical methods in biomedical and pharmaceutical research.
