Our AI research centres

Our Coordinated Research Centres (CRC) bring together research activities conducted by multiple Departments of the University.

Within each CRC, AI is explored in a multidisciplinary perspective by inter-departmental teams made up of researchers from different fields: computer science, philosophy, languages and literature, history, social sciences, economics, medicine, physics, mathematics, statistics, life sciences, cultural and environmental heritage. Our centres develop ethical and transparent systems, exploring the interactions of digital technologies and biological life, and applying AI in creative, social and healthcare contexts. This collaboration between scholars from different Departments not only fosters innovation, but also shows that a multidisciplinary approach is essential to face the challenges and seize the opportunities brought by artificial intelligence.
