The course aims at introducing students to the challenges of corporate communication by looking at communication theory, the difficulties of institutional and political communication and business language useful to function in workplace settings.
The lessons have both theoretical and practical components and focus predominantly on developing listening and writing skills. Speaking skills will also be practiced.
Prerequisites for admission
Students must have passed a Placement Test in English (more info on how and when to sit for the Placement Test, see here: https://www.unimi.it/it/studiare/competenze-linguistiche/placement-test-test-di-ingresso-e-corsi-di-inglese).

Lecturing.
Pair and team work.
Focus on listening and reading comprehension skills.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The test is computer-based and is made up of 60 closed questions (multiple choice or true or false). The duration of the test is 1 hour.
The questions are based on the reading material, lesson notes and any additional material to be found on Ariel.
