The aims of the Management Pubblico e della Sanità (Public and Healthcare Management) degree course are:
- to integrate different management skills (economic, legal, political, sociological, statistical skills)
- to understand the processes of Italian and European public administrations
- to understand the actual needs of organizations and citizens
- to develop task-oriented and project-oriented reasoning
- to recognize and overcome the typical traps of bureaucratic organizations
- to learn how to use the technological tools for administrative innovation and communication with users
Students graduating in MAPS are trained to work in public administration at national, regional, or local council level with intermediate-level positions.

MAPS graduates can also be employed by:
- Private businesses, in order to manage projects combining company objectives and public policies
- Consultancies, in order to carry out research and offer services based on interactions with public administration and the public health sector
- Professional bodies and trade associations, in order to monitor sectoral policies
- The Media, in order to improve communication to the public
- PR companies, in order to guarantee high technical and ethical standards in communication between private companies and Institutions
- Non-profit organisations, in order to do good and do it well

Employment statistics (Almalaurea)
Per essere ammessi al corso di laurea in Management Pubblico e della Sanità occorre possedere un diploma di scuola secondaria superiore o altro titolo conseguito all'estero, riconosciuto idoneo, e un'adeguata preparazione iniziale. Per frequentare proficuamente il corso di laurea è, infatti, necessario avere acquisito conoscenze di base relative all'area linguistico-espressiva e alle capacità logiche e matematiche.
Al fine di garantire livelli formativi di qualità in rapporto alla disponibilità di risorse, ai sensi dell'art. 2 della legge 264/1999, il Corso di laurea sarà ad accesso programmato con un numero di studenti pari a 120, a cui va aggiunto il contingente riservato a studenti extra-comunitari con residenza all'estero.
E' prevista una pre-ammissione primaverile per studenti dell'ultimo anno (per 40 posti) e per lavoratori già in possesso di diploma di maturità e in possesso di comprovata esperienza lavorativa in ambito coerente con i percorsi formativi del corso di laurea (per 20 posti).
La verifica delle conoscenze disciplinari necessarie per la frequenza del corso di laurea, affidata a una commissione di docenti nominata dal corso di laurea, avviene in base alla valutazione della carriera scolastica dello studente all'atto dell'immatricolazione.
Ai candidati ammessi nella selezione di settembre con voto di maturità pari o superiore a 80/100 (o 48/60) e a quelli ammessi nella selezione primaverile con media dei voti alla fine del secondo quadrimestre del quarto anno pari o superiore a 7 non verranno assegnati obblighi formativi. Anche i candidati ammessi in quanto in possesso di comprovata esperienza lavorativa non avranno obblighi formativi aggiuntivi.
Agli altri candidati la commissione valuterà, sulla base della valutazione del percorso di studio nella scuola media superiore, se assegnare degli obblighi formativi aggiuntivi nell'area linguistico-espressiva e/o logico-matematica da colmare entro il primo anno.
Le modalità di soddisfazione di questi obblighi formativi aggiuntivi sono specificate sul sito della Facoltà di Scienze politiche, economiche e sociali.
Qualora lo studente non assolva gli obblighi entro il predetto termine, il successivo anno accademico dovrà iscriversi come ripetente del primo anno di corso e non potrà sostenere gli esami degli anni successivi al primo.

Per frequentare proficuamente il corso è altresì necessaria la conoscenza della lingua inglese di livello B1 (o superiore) del Quadro europeo di riferimento.
Per poter sostenere l'esame di lingua inglese previsto dal piano di studio è richiesta la conoscenza della lingua inglese di livello B1. Tale livello può essere attestato nei seguenti modi:
· tramite l'invio di una certificazione linguistica conseguita non oltre i 3 anni antecedenti la data di presentazione della stessa, di livello B1 o superiore (per la lista delle certificazioni linguistiche riconosciute dall'Ateneo si rimanda al sito: http://www.unimi.it/studenti/100312.htm). La certificazione può essere caricata al momento dell'immatricolazione o inviata al Servizio/Centro Linguistico d'Ateneo SLAM tramite il servizio Infostudente;
· tramite Placement test, erogato da SLAM esclusivamente durante il I anno, da settembre a dicembre. In caso di non superamento del test, sarà necessario seguire i corsi erogati da SLAM.
Il placement test è obbligatorio per tutti gli studenti che non sono in possesso di una certificazione valida.
Coloro che non sosterranno il Placement Test entro dicembre oppure non supereranno il test finale entro 6 tentativi dovranno conseguire una certificazione entro l'annualità in cui è previsto l'esame di lingua.
Public Sector and Healthcare Management

The modules offered by our partners include core subjects and disciplines of Public Sector and Healthcare Management. The choice of modules is made by students before their departure in collaboration with the programme coordinator; the credits are recognized officially and included in the curriculum at the end of the exchange period.
La frequenza è fortemente consigliata. Il corso di laurea consente comunque l'iscrizione nella modalità 'a tempo parziale'.

Students are encouraged to sit for the Sociologia dell'organizzazione exam before Ricerca sociale e sociologia delle professioni; and to sit for Diritto Privato before Diritto Amministrativo.

Any extra training credits must be obtained by the end of the first year, so as to be granted access to the second and third years of the Bacherlor's degree in Health and Public Management.
