Learning objectives
Il corso illustra gli usi della lingua inglese nell'ambito della comunicazione politica contemporanea, analizzando contesti diversi ma correlati, dall'arena pubblica e dalle sedi istituzionali ai news media e i social networks. Tra gli aspetti linguistici, discorsivi e culturali dei messaggi, particolare attenzione è riservata all'impiego della metafora concettuale. I testi utilizzati discutono di alcuni case study di grande attualità.

MODULE 1:
An introduction to the language of politics - theory (rhetorics, rhetorical language, some common communicative strategies, political text genres) and practice (practice texts concerned with politics and newsgiving).

Language (students develop language skills and vocabulary related to political discourse).

Prerequisites for admission

Assessment methods and Criteria
The test is computer-based and is made up of 30 closed questions (multiple choice or true or false). The duration of the test is 30 minutes.
