Learning objectives
To analyze th eoratical aspects of nutrition and management of the beef and dairy's farming, with a practical approach, identifying the critical points and the corrective actions in order to elevate animal performance and welfare.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will have to be able to identify, once they have entered a breeding reality, the main critical points present and, if required, they will have to be able to impotivate improvement solutions.

Practical analysis of critical points in the production process (2 hours)
How do you identify the critical points and what are the approach methods in the field to achieve an effective management (4 hours)
Management and nutritional strategies specific for the stress phases of beef cattle (adaptation) and in dairy cows (transition) (4 hours)
How to behave for a correct interaction with the animals (2 hours)
Practical use of tools to monitor the response of animals to management and nutritional approaches: from the check list for the assessment of wellbeing to the sieving of diet and feces. (4 hours)

Good basic knowledge of animal husbandry
Teaching methods
the course will consist of 16 hours of frontal teaching, in which the highlights of the program will be analyzed, and 16 hours of practical exercise, in which it will be explained how to effectively make effective advice at the farm level and also some rationing suggestions.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will be divided into 1 oral test. The oral test will be based on the analysis and resolution of an example of a critical or problematic point of a practical nature, treated during the course.
