Psychiatric Rehabilitation in Childhood

Learning objectives
-to study the main psychopathological disorders of childhood and adolescence including drug use disease.
-to acquire the ability to collaborate in evaluating the mental distress and the potentiality of the young person;
-to study the specific rehabilitative techniques for the developmental age;
-to acquire the ability to establish and maintain supportive relationship with the patient and his family, adopting the fundamentals of relational dynamics.

Expected learning outcomes
- to acquire the ability to carry out rehabilitative and educational interventions on subjects with mental disorders, in order to develop a proper therapeutic project within a multidisciplinary team, using targeted methods for the support of the developmental age;
- to acquire the ability to improve primary prevention on the territory, in order to promote the development of a network of relationship and support the treatment and the management of risky situations, including also analysis about the juvenile justice.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Assessment of the learning will take place through a oral /written test, including multiple choice questions.
The evaluation criteria used will be the ability to list and organize the acquired knowledges as well as their application for the resolution of short questions. The evaluation of the teaching will be expressed in 30th and will be the result of the weighted average of the votes acquired in each module of the teaching. The results of the tests will be communicated to the students through online verbalization system of University.

Chilhood and Adolescence Psychopathology
NPI pathologies and their classification. The first NPI interview: a tool for investigating pathology and family relationships. Appropriations of the following pathologies in evolutionary age: Depression, adolescent breakdown, intellectual disability. DSA, certification and support.
Child Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation
Organisation of NPI services for both territorial and hospital care of developmental psychiatric patients.
Continuity between NPIA service and mental health Dept.
Neurological pathologies with psychopathological symptoms in chilhood. The headaches. Epilepsy in chilhood: clinical aspects and therapy; infantile Paralysis; Movement disorders.

Toxic effects of substances of abuse
The main substances of abuse in adolescence: neuropsychiatric effects (synthetic and natural drugs). Principles for the treatment of substances and processes addictions. Role of terp in addiction services for adolescences.
