Fulfilment of additional learning obligations (OFAs) - SPES courses

Admission to bachelor’s and single cycle degree programmes is subject to assessment of a student's initial preparation (pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004). Students with identified learning gaps are assigned additional learning obligations (i.e. additional activities such as courses and seminars) to be fulfilled in accordance with the timing and methods defined by each degree programme in the call for applications or on the degree programme website.

Here you can find  additional learning obligations (OFAs) for Political, Economic and Social Sciences bachelor and masters.

Students who enrolled in the SPO-SIE-GLO-MOL bachelor's degree programmes with insufficient admission test scores (ie lower than the ones provided for by the call for applications) in Verbal Comprehension and / or Logic and Mathematics will be assigned additional learning requirements (OFA).

Students who enrolled in the IPLE bachelor's degree programme with insufficient admission test scores (ie they answered wrongly at least half of the questions) in Logic and Mathematics will be assigned additional learning requirements (OFA).

Students who enrolled in the CES bachelor's degree programme with insufficient admission test scores (ie they answered wrongly at least half of the questions) in Reading Comprehension will be assigned additional learning requirements (OFA).

Students who enrolled in the MAPS bachelor's degree programme with insufficient admission test scores (ie lower than the ones provided for by the call for applications) in Verbal Comprehension and / or Logic and Mathematics will be assigned additional learning requirements (OFA). For student workers, the educational background, and any relief from additional learning requirements, will be assessed by a special commission of teachers appointed by the Academic Board, based on professional experience, as specified in the call for applications.

Students enrolled in the EMA bachelor's degree programme, who obtained an overall score (unweighted sum of the scores) of less than 5 in the Mathematics and Logic sections will be assigned additional learning requirements in those areas. To fulfil the OFA in Logic / Mathematics, students must follow the MOOC available on federica.eu focussing on subjects in which they are weaker. They will also have to pass, with more than 75%  correct answers, an online test with questions and exercises on mathematics prerequisites. The test will be made available at the beginning of the A.Y. on the online platform indicated by Prof. Puccetti, in charge of OFA. Students who fail the test can sit for it again after 30 days.
In order to fulfil their learning requirements, students are required to attend special remedial courses during the first year, and to pass the relevant final exam.
If students do not fulfil their OFA by September 2021 by passing the exam in their gap area, they will not be able to sit for the exams for years following Year I.

Students who enrolled in the SPO-SIE-GLO-LAM bachelor's degree programmes with insufficient admission test scores (ie lower than the ones provided for by the Call for Application) in Verbal Comprehension and / or Logic and Mathematics will be assigned additional learning obligations (OFAs) to bridge their gaps.

Students who enrolled in the IPLE bachelor's degree programme with insufficient admission test scores (ie they answered wrongly at least half of the questions) in Logic and Mathematics will be assigned additional learning obligations (OFAs) to bridge their gaps.

Students enrolled in the MAPS bachelor's degree programme, who upon admission did not meet the requirements for Verbal Comprehension and / or Logic and Mathematics, will be assigned additional learning obligations (OFAs) to bridge their gaps. The requirements will be ascertained by a special programme committee. Students who do not meet the requirements will receive an email; results will be communicated through the degree programme web page.

In order to fulfil their learning obligations, students are required to attend special bridging courses during the first year, and to pass the relevant final exam.

If students do not fulfil their OFAs by September 2020 by passing the exam in their gap area, they will not be able to sit the exams for the following years.
