INDACO Unitech

The INDACO platform is the University’s high-performance computing infrastructure, designed to support research involving complex data across scientific and technological fields.

INDACO provides:

• more than 2,000 physical cores and over 2 PB of storage on a parallel file system (PFS), supported by a high-performance Infiniband communication network
• coordinated and simultaneous access to multiple processes, nodes and systems, optimising resource usage for HPC applications
• technical support and consulting on how to use resources usage and optimisecomputational workflows

The platform is particularly effective for:

• bioinformatics and genomics
• molecular modelling and numerical simulations
• omics data analysis (proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics)
• processing of high-resolution images generated by advanced microscopy techniques

INDACO is also developing a dedicated environment for artificial intelligence applications, further expanding opportunities for interdisciplinary research and big data management.
